THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: President Droupadi Murmu's visit to Sabarimala has been cancelled following India-Pakistan tensions. It was earlier informed that the President would arrive in Kottayam on May 18 and visit Sabarimala on the 19th. However, the President decided to avoid private functions as tensions were escalating on the border. The police and the devaswom board have been informed about this.
In connection with the President's arrival, restrictions were imposed on allowing virtual queues for pilgrims on May 18th and 19th. These restrictions have been lifted. The temple will open on the evening of May 14 for the Edava month pooja. The temple will close at 10 pm on May 19th.
