ISLAMABAD: Amid the escalating India-Pakistan tension, Pakistani MP Shahid Ahmed lashed out at the Pakistani government and army in Parliament. A video of Shahid criticizing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in strong language has surfaced. Shahid criticized Shehbaz as a coward and said that he is afraid to even mention the name of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"If a fox leads an army of lions, they cannot fight, they will lose the war," Shahid said, citing a quote from Tipu Sultan. "Our soldiers stationed on the border expect us to show courage. But when the Prime Minister himself is a coward, when we cannot even mention Modi's name, what message do we send to those who are fighting at the frontline risking their lives?" "Meanwhile, you have property and houses in Europe and America. We should be here. Where will we ordinary people go?" he asked.
Earlier, a video of Pakistani MP Tahir Iqbal speaking emotionally in the parliament was released. The scene where he pleaded in the parliament saying "Ya Khuda, aaj bacha lo" (Oh God, save us today) was actually considered a direct reflection of the pathetic state of Pakistan.
Defence Minister with a strange claim
Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that India's drone attack was deliberately not stopped. Asif's strange response, "This was to avoid revealing the exact location of our military equipment", came while addressing the Pakistani Parliament. This statement contradicted the Pakistani army's claim that it had shot down the Indian drones. The opposition alleged that this would create a rift in the relationship between the army and the government. Meanwhile, it is reported that Asif is receiving severe criticism on social media and from the Pakistani people.
