Sexually assaulted minor girls after intoxicating them with alcohol; three arrested

KAZHAKOOTTAM: Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of two minor female students after allegedly intoxicating them with alcohol. The arrested men are Shangumugham Cheruvettukad native Ebin (19), Kuriyathi native Abhilash (24) and Beemapally native Faizer Khan (38). They were taken into custody by the Thumba Police under the POCSO Act.

The incident took place on April 17. According to police, the trio gave the girls alcohol at a hotel near Thampuranmukku. After the students became heavily intoxicated and collapsed, the accused took them to the hotel restroom under the pretence of washing their faces and allegedly sexually assaulted them there.

Later, while the victims were still unconscious, the accused took them to a private hospital and informed their parents. After regaining consciousness, the girls disclosed the sexual assault to their parents, who then lodged a complaint with the police. The accused have been remanded.
