Empuraan, the second part of Lucifer, was released after a long wait. The film, which received mixed reviews, had collected more than Rs 300 crores. There were major controversies soon after the release of the film. 24 parts were edited from the film. Now, the film's producer Antony Perumbavoor is talking about the challenges faced during the release of the film and about the third part of Lucifer.

'Empuraan is a film that has brought us remarkable success. There will be a third part to the film. If the views seen in the film are to be complete, there must be a third part. The audience is also expecting it. After the release date of Empuraan was announced, there were some difficulties with those who worked with the film until then. Those were the most stressful days of my film career. An unparalleled reception was arranged for the film in many places. It was impossible to disappoint them by changing the release date. If the predetermined date changes, we were not sure to get such an opportunity later. There were problems and we faced big challenges and we are not hiding it, but we overcame eeverything together,' said Antony Perumbavoor. He said this in an interview given to a media.

Empuraan, which was released as the second part of Lucifer, directed by Prithviraj in 2019, hit the theaters on March 27. The film, starring Mohanlal in the lead, also had Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jerome Flynn, Baiju, Sai Kumar, Andrea Tivader, Abhimanyu Singh, Sania Ayyappan, Fazil, Sachin Khadkar, Naila Usha, Jiju John, Nandu, Murugan Martin, Sivaji Guruvayur, Manikuttan, Anish G Menon, Sivada, Alex O'Neill, Eric Ebony, Karthikeya Dev, Mihael Novikov, Kishore, Sukant, Behzad Khan, Nikhat Khan, Satyajit Sharma, Nayan Bhatt, Shubhangi, and Jais Jose in supporting roles.

The film was produced by Subhaskaran, Antony Perumbavoor and Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Lyca Productions, Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies. The script was written by Murali Gopi. Empuraan was also the first film in the history of Malayalam cinema to be released in IMAX.
