Four people killed, one injured in road accident on national highway in Vadakara

KOZHIKODE: Four people lost their lives after a car collided with a traveller van on the national highway in Vadakara, Kozhikode. The accident occurred near the Moorad bridge on the national highway. All four deceased were passengers in the car. One person was seriously injured in the accident.

The car, which was travelling towards the Kannur region, collided with a Karnataka-registered traveller van. The deceased have been identified as Mahe Punnol natives Roja, Jayavalli, Shigin Lal and Azhiyoor native Ranji.

The car was completely destroyed in the accident. The victims had to be taken out by cutting through the wreckage. The traveller van was carrying passengers from Karnataka. The accident occurred just as the car was entering the road after refuelling. All eight people in the traveller van were injured and have been admitted to a hospital in Vadakara.
