ISLAMABAD: A top Pakistan Air Force officer has admitted the role of the Pakistani army in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. Director General of the Pakistan Air Force Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed described the Pulwama terror attack as a 'tactical brilliance' in a press conference on Friday.
Pakistan, which had not taken responsibility for years despite India's repeated evidence, has now come out in the open. This also undermines Pakistan's constant claim of innocence. It will also weaken Pakistan's demand for evidence from India in the Pahalgam terror attack. Aurangzeb Ahmed said that even after Operation Sindoor, they have shown 'operational progress and strategic acumen'. DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry and a Navy spokesperson were present at the press conference.
For years, Pakistan has denied any involvement in the Pulwama attack, carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists, which killed 40 CRPF personnel. Despite India repeatedly providing documents linking the terrorists to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Pakistan has consistently demanded more evidence and rejected India's allegations. After the Pulwama attack, India retaliated by carrying out air strikes on a Jaish-e-Mohammed training camp in Balakot.
