THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Th vigilance report giving a clean chit to ADGP M R Ajith Kumar in the disproportionate assets case, has been submitted in the court. The case will be considered on May 27. The special vigilance court had issued an ultimatum the other day to submit the investigation report on Monday itself.
When the investigating officer informed that the report had been submitted to the government, Judge M V Rajakumara asked isn’t the case pending in the court and shouldn’t it be submitted here. Soon the vigilance report was submitted in the court. The court will take further action after examining the report.
The chief minister had signed the file last month, approving the vigilance report that acquitted Ajith Kumar. The vigilance investigation against Ajith Kumar was conducted on allegations that the ADGP, along with his brother-in-law, had purchased land worth Rs 70 lakhs for one cent in Thiruvananthapuram's Kowdiar and that there was corruption in the construction of a luxury building there. The plea against Ajith Kumar had alleged that the chief minister's political secretary P Sasi was helping the ADGP. The vigilance director later submitted a report stating that Ajith Kumar had not acquired any illegal assets. The chief minister accepted this investigation report.
