BENGALURU: An Adani Group-owned company has been instrumental in destroying terror camps in Pakistan with its indigenously developed Skystriker drones. These drones were used to strike terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as part of Operation Sindoor.
Once the target is found, it is destroyed in a targeted manner. Skystriker is a loitering munition, also known as suicide drones or kamikaze drones. It is reported that the army bought it at a cost of Rs 100 crore during Operation Sindoor.
This drone was developed by Bengaluru-based Alpha Design Technologies in collaboration with Israel's Elbit Systems. Adani Defense Systems and Technologies Limited has a 26 percent stake in Alpha Design Technologies.
Payload and Long Range
Designed to detect and attack enemy targets, these drones can carry a warhead weighing between five and 10 kilograms. They are designed to be able to carry out direct air strikes within a range of 100 kilometers.
Silent killer
A silent, invisible and surprising attacker. It will fly over the target and send information to the ground control unit. Once instructed, it will crash and explode immediately. Even after being launched, the ground control can redirect it to a new target. It is currently being exported to foreign countries. After the Balakot attack, the army had ordered several units of this drone in 2021.
