'Locks X account, daughter's phone number leaked'; Vile hate campaign against Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri

NEW DELHI: The whole of India came out to support Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, after the diplomat got entangled in a vile cyber-attack. Misri was labelled as a ‘despicable traitor’ after he held a press conference to announce an agreement had been reached between India and Pakistan for a ceasefire.

Personal attacks, private details and brutal shaming on a cyber platform were directed at Misri the other day. The cyber-attack was condemned by the IAS and IPS associations, the National Commission for Women and Shashi Tharoor MP. Few people on social media tracked down Misri’s daughter’s social media account and even shared her phone number publicly.

Former Foreign Secretary Nirupama Menon Rao called the trolling an insult that crossed all boundaries of decency. AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi said that officials should not be blamed for the decisions of the political leadership.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who was informing the country about Operation Sindoor, has had his X account locked. A terrible hate campaign has been launched against Misri and his family in cyberspace.

His daughter Didon Misri was also not spared. Her Instagram account, LinkedIn details and mobile phone number were shared in the public domain. Didon is a lawyer in London. She was attacked for allegedly providing legal aid to Rohingya refugees.
