KOCHI: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) seized several documents, including mobile phones and pen drives, during a search at the house of a Malayali youth arrested by Nagpur Police in a case of posting a social media post insulting Operation Sindoor.

The inspection was carried out at the house of Rejaz M. Sheeba Sydeek, (26), a native of Elamakkara Kirthinagar, the previous day. It is reported that several books propagating extremist ideas were seized from his house. The ATS also recorded the statements of his parents. Intelligence Bureau officials were also present during the inspection.

Rejaz had led a demonstration in Panampilly Nagar, Ernakulam on April 29 against the demolition of the houses of those who carried out terrorist attacks in Kashmir.

Eight people, including him, were arrested by the Ernakulam South police in the incident and released on bail. The ATS has also collected information about this case. Rejaz was arrested along with his girlfriend when he reached Nagpur after attending an event in Delhi. The friend was later released.
