Car carrying Malayali family wrecked in accident on Bengaluru-Mysore Expressway; one-year-old baby dead, six people injured

BENGALURU: A toddler died tragically when a bus hit a car that overturned after hitting a divider. Carlo Joe Kurian (1), son of Atul and Alina, natives of Chengoth, Kolakkad, Kannur-Kelakam, died. The accident took place on the Bengaluru-Mysore Expressway. The child's mother Alina (33), her eldest son Steve (3), Alina's mother Retti (57), relatives Alfin (16) and Aaron (14) and driver Antony (27) were also injured in the accident. They were admitted to St. John's Medical College Hospital, Bengaluru. The accident occurred at around 4 am today.

The car, which had entered a waterlogged zone on the road, lost control and crashed into the divider. At that time, the car was hit by a private bus going to Bengaluru. The car was completely destroyed in the accident. The accident occurred when Alina was returning from her hometown to her residence in Huskur, near Electronic City. Carlo was thrown out of the car at the time of the accident. The injured driver, Antony, helped the others out. The child's father was in Bengaluru at the time of the accident.
