KOCHI: The carpenter who went viral through Kerala Kaumudi online with his song has become a playback singer. The wheel of fortune has blessed Ramesh from Cherthala Poochakkal. The scene of Ramesh Poochakkal singing beautifully to the rhythm of the chisel and mallet amidst the hustle and bustle of the workshop went viral through Kerala Kaumudi. Ramesh sang the song starting with 'Kanadooram..." at My Studio in Kochi. The music was composed by Ranjin Raj. This is a song from the movie Sumathi Valavu produced by Murali Kunnumpurath. Murali Kunnumpurath is the real-life protagonist of the movie Vellam.
Murali, who saw the video of Ramesh singing at the Royal Furniture Shop in Poochakkal, called him and congratulated him and came to Poochakkal to meet him. Murali Kunnumpurath had told Ramesh that he would give him an opportunity to sing in his next movie.
Ramesh sang a song that was a mix of Malayalam and Tamil, written by Ranjin Raj and Abhilash Pillai. The film is directed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar, and the story and screenplay are by Abhilash Pillai.
I am happy that the wish of Ramesh to sing in a movie has come true. The voice heard through Kerala Kaumudi is becoming familiar to Malayalis through the movie.

There will be some speciality for the voices that Murali finds. That speciality is there in Ramesh's voice also

I have to thank Kerala Kaumudi for everything. The song I sang while sitting in the workshop was introduced to the world through Kerala Kaumudi.
