NEW DELHI: Srinagar International Airport, which had been closed due to the India-Pakistan conflict, reopened yesterday. The first flight to land was an Air India aircraft. The Air India flight departed from Delhi at 11:47 a.m. and landed at Srinagar Airport around 1:00 p.m. Over eight flights were operated yesterday. IndiGo is set to resume its services today. SpiceJet announced that Hajj services would begin today, with two flights scheduled to transport 324 pilgrims each for the Hajj pilgrimage tomorrow.
Although there were plans to reopen airports in Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot, flight operations were not conducted yesterday due to the presence of Pakistani drones along the border areas on Monday night. Only one flight landed in Jammu yesterday.
Schools reopened
Schools and colleges have reopened in Jammu and Kashmir, except in the border areas of Uri, Tangdhar, Karnah, Gurez, Kupwara, and Baramulla. Kashmir University will reopen today. Business centres have also started returning to normal.
