Junior lawyer expects bar council to take strong action against her senior

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More information has emerged over the brutal attack towards a junior lawyer by her senior Bailin Das in Vanchiyoor. The junior lawyer identified as Shyamili spoke about her senior Bailin, under whom she was practicing. Shyamili said Bailin is very short-tempered and that is why he beat me. She said that she has faith in the investigation being conducted by the Vanchiyoor police for the lawyer, who is absconding.

Her words
'I saw the doctor. Since I am breast-feeding, I cannot take high-dose medicines. I have pain while talking. I have filed a complaint with the bar council. I have support from all sides. I will proceed with legal action. I am trying to get justice as soon as possible. My colleagues were surprised to see me being attacked. He beat me when I came out of the cabin and spoke to another colleague. All are witnesses.

My husband and brother arrived at that time. The police were informed. He was not arrested then. The bar association secretary said that a lawyer cannot be arrested from his office. The secretary said that he can be arrested only after taking legal action. Bailin is a politically active person.

I became a lawyer as I am fond of that profession. I gave birth on October 10. I had gone to the court until October 9. My family was against it. I studied hard. No one has a bad opinion about me. I wanted to know the reason for my termination. Another colleague lied to Bailin about me. He did not find the truth. The bar association and the bar council should take stern action like removing his coat. He gets angry when his actions are questioned,' Shyamili told media.
