Threat to kill witnesses testifying in Kalamassery blast case

KOCHI: There is a threat message to kill those who testify against accused Martin in the Kalamassery blast case. The threat message was received on the phone number of the Jehovah's Witnesses' PRO. It is reported that the message came from a Malaysian number. The police have started an investigation into the incident.


The threat message was received at around 10 pm on May 12. The threat was that those who testify against accused Martin would be killed and that bombs would be planted in Jehovah's Witnesses' conferences and centers. They filed a complaint along with documents.


The explosion occurred on October 29, 2023, during a prayer meeting of Jehovah's Witnesses at the Samra Convention Center. Eight people were killed in the explosion using a petrol bomb. About 45 people were injured. Martin is the only accused in the case. Although the police have filed a charge sheet, the trial has not yet begun.
