QUETTA: Kashish Chaudhary from Chagai district in Balochistan became the first Hindu woman to clear the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination. Her appointment as the Assistant Commissioner in the restive province is a new dawn of hope for the minuscule minority population in the region.

In her response to a local channel, Chaudhary said she used to devote almost eight hours daily in preparation for the exams.

Kashish Chaudhary’s father expressed pride in her achievement and both of them met Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti in Quetta. CM Bugti expressed his desire to see more people from minority sections coming to the forefront to serve society.

Kashish Chaudhary’s achievement is no mean task, as she battled the religious and societal stigmas to come out with success. It is also deemed that the women from the Muslim community follow the religious dogma to remain averse to education while more from minority communities in Pakistan are choosing education as a big step towards success.
