THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman was crushed to death between a KSRTC bus and a parapet wall at the Thampanoor bus stand. The deceased has been identified as Nabeesath (48), wife of Muhammed Rafiq, a native of Kulasekharam, Kanyakumari.

The accident occurred yesterday at around 11:30 AM in the section of the bus stand adjacent to the old Coffee House. This area serves as an entrance for buses. Nabeesath had just got down from a bus and was attempting to exit the bus stand. Upon seeing another bus approaching, she stood close to the parapet wall for safety. However, the bus came too close and crushed her against the wall. She died on the spot.

Nabeesath's husband is a cancer patient. She had come to Thiruvananthapuram to submit medical documents to the hospital in advance of her husband's chemotherapy session scheduled for the 18th. The Thampanoor police have initiated further proceedings. The body has been placed in the mortuary at the Medical College Hospital. Children: Afsal, Shahina, and Fazil.
