Woman tourist dies, two injured after resort tent collapses in Meppadi

KALPETTA: A woman tourist died after the tent of a resort collapsed. The dead is Nishma (25) of Akampadam in Nilambur. The accident happened at Meppadi 900 Kandi. The tent collapsed was made of grass and logs. The tent of 900 Ventures Resort collapsed.

The two who sustained injuries in the accident has been admitted in the hospital. The police questioned the resort employees in the incident. The tent that collapsed had no safety at all. The tent was made of rotten logs.

Resort manager said a 16-member group had reached the resort. The incident is believed to have been caused by heavy rain in the area. The resort manager said the tent collapsed in the rain and that there was adequate security in the tent. There were three girls in the tent.
