KOCHI: More information has surfaced in connection with the death of Ivin Jijo (24) of Thuravoor fatally knocked down by a car driven by CISF official near Nedumbassery airport. Two CISF officials of the airport were in the car and they were drunk. The two have been arrested by the Nedumbassery police. Soon after registering a case, the two were suspended.

The police believe that they deliberately knocked him down after a dispute broke out between the two in giving way. Ivin was working in a company that supplies food to flights. While going for night duty, a dispute broke out between Ivin and CISF officers at Nayathode in Ernakulam.

Ivin’s neighbor Jose said that the former informed the company where he is working that a dispute broke out and that he would be a little late for work. Ivin left home at 9:30 pm. He called his company at 9:50 pm. It is also reported that Ivin had recorded the footage of the argument on his phone.

Jose also said that Ivin did not have any previous acquaintance with the officers. The police are planning to conduct a detailed forensic examination of the car in the incident. Ivin's body is presently kept in Angamaly hospital. The body will be handed over to his relatives after postmortem.
