Woman burns minor son for interrupting her video call with male friend

KASARGOD: A case has been registered against a woman for burning her 10-year-old son with a teapot. The Bekal police registered a case against a woman from Keekanam village in Kasaragod. The boy was tortured for interrupting her video call with a male friend.


The incident happened on April 28 at around 5 pm. The complaint filed said the woman used to talk on the phone and make video calls with a youth from Kallar, who was her classmate in school. She did not pay heed to her son’s request to discontinue it. She continued even after he said that he will inform his father about it. The complaint said that she would physically and mentally torture the boy.


The woman got angry when her son interrupted her while she was on a video call with her friend on the day of the incident. The complaint said that when he refused to move away while she was talking on the phone, she burned his stomach with a hot teapot. She had also threatened him not to tell anyone about it.


In the meanwhile, the woman left her two children and husband and eloped with her friend. The woman's husband then filed a missing complaint with the police. A case has been registered in this regard as well.
