NEW DELHI: India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar appreciated the Taliban for condemning the Pahalgam terror attack. Jaishankar conveyed his appreciation during a phone call with Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi. He stated that attempts by some forces to create discord between Afghanistan and India had failed. This move by India comes at a time when tensions between Pakistan and the Taliban government in Afghanistan are intensifying.
Earlier today, Jaishankar also made it clear that there is no third-party involvement in India-Pakistan discussions. He reiterated that there is no change in India's stance of suspending the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan and that any talks with Pakistan would only happen if the country stops supporting terrorism — a position already made clear by the Prime Minister. He made these remarks while speaking to the media after the inauguration of the Honduras Embassy in New Delhi.
