THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One person has been arrested in connection with the incident that led to a clash in Vellalloor following the cancellation of rapper Vedan's concert. Aravind, a native of Attingal Elamba, has been arrested. He was arrested by Nagaroor police.
An electrician had died of electrocution while setting up an LED wall for Vedan's concert in Vellalloor. Vedan refused to perform because of this. With this, an announcement was made through a microphone that the concert had been cancelled. This led to a clash among those who had come to watch the concert. The stage of the concert was in a field in Vellalloor. Those who had come to watch the concert abused the organisers and threw mud at the objects prepared for the concert. The enraged fans threw mud at the police and other spectators who had come to control the clash. The electronic equipment placed on and around the stage was damaged in their attack.
Vedan announced through social media that he was mentally distressed by the death of the technician and that he was mentally struggling to sing on stage in this situation. Vedan also said that he would come to sing in front of the same crowd another day. It was during this time that a clash broke out at the venue.
