Bollywood actress Janki Bodiwala ignited a debate after she opened up about a director's strange suggestion while shooting a scene. Janki made her Bollywood debut with Ajay Devgn's film Shaitan.

Shaitan was directed by Vikas Bahl, and released in 2024. It starred Ajay Devgn, Madhavan, Jyothika, and Janki Bodiwala in prominent roles.

Shaitan was a remake of the Gujarati horror film Vash. Janki Bodiwala also played the lead role in the Gujarati film. Janki’s anecdotes on the shooting days of Vash have now triggered a controversy.

“While attending the workshops for Vash movie, I was asked by the director to try peeing for real in a scene. The director is a very good person and it was a demand based on artistic consideration.

There is a scene where I am supposed to urinate on my dress and it should then get wet. While discussing the scenes, director Krishnadev Yagnik asked me if the scene with the father character could be done without the help of graphics to achieve more perfection.

I was a little confused at first, but I agreed. To be honest, that scene was the reason I agreed to do the film. I was happy that I would get the opportunity to do something on screen that no one had ever done before. But later, that idea was dropped from the film.

There will be a lot of retakes and it is humanly impossible to urinate at command. I understood this and found a way to replace it," the actress said.
