Suicide threat turns fatal; 31-year-old dies in front of his pregnant wife

KANNUR: A 31-year-old man died tragically in front of his pregnant wife after accidentally hanging himself while threatening to take his own life. The deceased has been identified as Siyad, a native of Thayatheru, Kannur. The incident took place at Siyad's rented house in Thayatheru on Friday.

Siyad was an autorickshaw driver and the father of two. According to reports, the incident occurred following an argument between Siyad and his wife. Siyad had tied a rope around his neck and stood on a stool, which broke, causing the rope to tighten fatally.

Despite his wife's immediate efforts and intervention from neighbours, Siyad could not be saved and was declared dead before reaching the hospital. The body was released to the family after a post-mortem examination and laid to rest on Saturday evening. Chirakkal police have registered a case and confirmed that the death was a case of suicide.
