KOCHI: The police will grill one more CISF inspector in the murder case of Ivin Jijo (24), who was fatally knocked down by a car in Nedumbassery. The action follows the finding that the two accused had liquor at this officer's house. The police have confirmed that this officer helped the second accused to appear for duty after the incident. The Nedumbassery police have directed the officer to appear for interrogation tomorrow.

Meantime, the CISF is planning to terminate the accused Vinaya Kumar Das and Mohan, from service. The police' FIR and remand report have been handed over to the CISF DG. It is hinted that a decision in this regard will be taken this week.

The murder that shook the state happened at around 10 pm on Wednesday. The incident happened at Nayathode near the Nedumbassery airport. The accused were drunk. When the victim tried to stop them from fleeing before police arrived, Das drove the vehicle toward him. After shouting expletives at Ivin, the officers attempted to reverse the vehicle and go away. However, Ivin stood in front of them and tried to film the video on his mobile phone.

Ivin asked them not to leave until the police arrived. However, the two started the car forward all of a sudden, making Ivin hang on in the bonnet portion of the car for almost 1.5 kilometres. Despite pleading to stop, the car dragged Ivin along to St John's Chapel on Kapella Road. Here, the car suddenly braked and Ivin fell on the road. Ivin, who had injuries all over his body, died instantly.
