Actress Aparna Das, who debuted through Fahad Faasil’s ‘Njan Prakashan’ in 2018 is now a household name among Malayalees, mostly for her marriage with actor Deepak Parambol. Aparna continues to be active in movies with her latest project 'Written and Directed by God' scheduled to hit theaters on June 5.
Now, Aparana’s statement made during the promotion works of the movie has ignited a debate on social media.
Aparna Das:
“See, I grew up in a generation where bringing phones to school was considered a crime nevertheless. Those times are over as it is now mandatory for students to bring phones to school. I have a brother who is still of that age and knows how things work. After Covid and the online classes trend, mobile phones have become a prime requisite for students and it was wriggled into their daily lives with ease.
I thought I would never talk about this woman in public, but I can’t help. This woman is a film director who specializes in B-grade and soft-porn content. It may be the profession of her choice. Nobody is against it. However, she often posts videos on Instagram giving instructions to actors on how to make the scene sleazier. This is posted on public platforms for everyone to watch. It is a promotion gimmick.
I saw one of the videos and got madly triggered. It is 2025 and social media houses not just elders but crores of children and teens. What is the need for all those children to get exposed to such videos at this young age? It would be nice if these people showed some responsibility.”
