Fire started from garment shop's godown; more fire force units reach the spot to put out fire

KOZHIKODE: The fire brigade is making intensive efforts to extinguish the major fire that broke out in Kozhikode city. More fire force units have reached the spot to douse the fire. The fire broke out at the Mofussil Bus Stand on Mavoor Road in Kozhikode. The fire broke out at a clothing shop called Calicut Textiles on the third floor of the bus stand building at around 5 pm. It is reported that the fire broke out from the textiles godown.

While trying to extinguish the fire, the fire spread to more parts of the building, which posed a challenge for the fire force. The fire spread from the textiles to other shops. A major accident was averted as the people in the shop and building fled. Those who were on other floors of the building were evacuated. More people are being evacuated from the area. More fire force units have been dispatched to the area from nearby districts.
