15 injured in stampede during rapper Vedan's Palakkad music event

PALAKKAD: 15 people were injured in a stampede at a music concert by rapper Vedan, held as part of the state-level meeting of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes organized to mark the fourth anniversary of the state government.

The event, which started at 7 pm on Sunday, was marred by an unruly crowd during the final phase. The police lathi-charged even the organizers among others after the crowd went amok. The people injured were admitted to the district hospital and given primary treatment.

Meanwhile, some others collapsed due to the massive rush at the event. They were also rushed to hospital.
