AMRITSAR: Major General Kartik C Seshadri confirmed that Pakistan after facing a setback in Operation Sindoor, tried to attack the Golden Temple in Amritsar. However, India's strong defense system destroyed the drones and missiles sent by Pakistan, said Seshadri.
India had received indications that Pakistan might attack Indian military bases and important centers after Operation Sindoor. The Golden Temple was among them. 'The Pakistani army did not have any legitimate targets in India. Therefore, it was expected that they would target military and civilian zones and places of worship where public gather. The Golden Temple was the most important of these. It was decided to prepare an air defense system for the Golden Temple,' said Seshadri.
Pakistan used drones and missiles against the Golden Temple on May 8 All these were destroyed using the defense system. The Pakistani attack was neutralized using Akash missile system and L-70 air defense guns. In response to the Pahalgam attack, India carried out precision strikes at nine locations. Through this, India destroyed military installations and training camps of terrorist organizations including Jaish-e-Mohammed. Some of the terrorists caught in the attacks in India were also killed. Pakistan had confirmed that the headquarters of the Pakistan Air Force were also destroyed in the Indian attack.
