KOCHI: A Nissan Motor India spokesperson ruled out rumours of the giant automobile company planning to exit the lucrative Indian market. As per the new reports, Nissan will not withdraw from the Indian market and will always remain committed to its operations, dealers, partners and customers in the country.
He made this statement in response to a report in 'Kerala Kaumudi' the other day about Nissan preparing to exit the Indian market as part of global cost-cutting measures.
Nissan cars will continue to be manufactured in India. An official spokesperson told Kerala Kaumudi that the news about Renault acquiring Nissan's 51% stake in the Renault-Nissan Automotive India Private Limited plant in Tamil Nadu was correct. This was termed as the company's strategic move to make active operations in India.
