THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: R Bindu (39), who was detained for theft, will file a complaint against her employer Omana Daniel, for filing a fake complaint. Bindu was insulted by the police in connection with the incident. Bindu demanded an investigation against Omana’s daughter as she suspects her role in it.
Taking action against the sub inspector is not enough. Action should be taken against everyone who harassed me in the Peroorkada police station. They should be terminated from service. CPO Prasanan should not continue in service. I should get justice, she said.
Sub inspector S G Prasad of Peroorkada Police Station was suspended for mentally harassing the dalit woman in the station for nearly a day. Bindu was insulted on the complaint of a chain that went missing from her employer’s house in Kudappanakunnu.
The innocent dalit woman was mentally harassed in the station for hours. The chain went missing on April 19 and her houseowner Omana lodged the complaint on April 23. The police called Bindu and asked her to come to the station when she was waiting for the bus in Ambalamukku to return home from the house where she was working as a domestic help. The police then harassed her brutally.
They did not even give her water to drink. She was undressed in front of the male cops. The FIR was not cancelled even after getting the chain of 18 grams from the same house on April 24th itself. The steps for that were taken only yesterday. The home department is planning to take action against more cops. There is a chance of mass transfer in the Peroorkada police station. The investigation report has been handed over to the commissioner.
