AMRITSAR: Weeks after ‘Operation Sindoor’, India’s precision attack targeting terror camps in Pakistan, India’s home ministry announced a civil defense mock drill on May 29 in four states sharing borders with Pakistan.
Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir will conduct mock drill session on Thursday to adapt to emergency response mechanisms and wartime preparations.
The exercise titled “Operation Shield” will be performed in 22 districts at 5 pm on Thursday.
The last mock drill was planned on May 7 but India attacked Pakistan in the wee hours of May 6-night avenging the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The May 7 civil mock drill was titled “Operation Abhyas,” which helped the nation prepare for war-like emergencies.
Air raid sirens and power outages will be part of the mock drill to be held on May 29.
The sudden announcement from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding yet another mock drill has evoked doubts and concern among people.
