Setback for SFIO: Delhi High Court stops further action against CMRL in monthly pay-off case

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court denied further action against CMRL on the investigation report filed by the SFIO in the Ernakulam Additional District and Sessions Court. Justice Subramoniam Prasad ordered that no action be taken until the petition is disposed of.

The court observed that it is in the best interest of the administration of justice not to proceed with the trial court findings on the basis of the investigation report. The High Court reminded the other day about SFIO’s earlier oral assurance in April 2024 that they will not file a report in the trial court despite continuing the investigation. However, SFIO ignored this and filed the report.

Meanwhile, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Chetan Sharma submitted in Thursday's order that this was an error due to a miscommunication.
