'Shanmukhan' arrives to meet Thirumalai Murugan; Mohanlal offers copper 'Vel' to Thirumalai Kumaraswamy temple

Thudarum, directed by Tharun Moorthy and starring Mohanlal in the lead, was a huge success in the theaters. The movie has also started streaming on OTT. In the movie Thudarum, Mohanlal appeared in the role of a taxi driver named Shanmugan. Now, pictures of Mohanlal visiting the Sengottai Thirumalai temple on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border are gaining attention. Mohanlal and his friends reached the Panpoli Thirumalai Kumaraswamy temple at 6:30 am on Thursday. Mohanlal also offered a copper-covered 'Vel' to the temple as an offering. The superstar returned, announcing that he would visit the temple again. Pictures of Mohanlal visiting the temple are viral on social media.

Thirumalai kovil, a Murugan temple known as Dakshina Palani, is a favorite place for believers and tourists. This temple, built of stones, is located on a hillock adjacent to the Western Ghats in Sengottai Panpoli. The age of Thirumalai kovil is estimated to be over 600 years. The temple records state that it was Sivagami Ammaiyar who completed the construction of Thirumalai kovil. It is also said that the first parts of the temple were built by the Pandalam king. Lord Murugan is famous here as 'Kumaraswamy'.

Allu Arjun's Pushpa movie has been shot here. The song 'Kondattam' in the movie 'Thudarum' also mentions Thirumalai Murugan.
