KOCHI: As part of defending terrorist attacks, the Avengers Anti-Terrorist Squad, the elite force of the Kerala Police, organized a mock drill. The mock drill was held at a private luxury hotel in Kochi. Coast Guard and Fire Force were also part of the mock drill.
The mock drill was in the form of a four-member gang reaching the hotel in a car and taking ordinary people hostage. The terrorist group jumped out and opened fire, spreading fear. They forcibly took those who were in the hotel courtyard hostage. Then they entered the hotel with the hostages. Knowing that the terrorists had reached the hotel, the Kerala Police's Anti-Terrorist Squad rushed there. What they saw later were decisive moves.
One group secretly targeted the hotel by land without being seen by the terrorists. Another group arrived by water. They entered the hotel armed with guns and rescued the hostages and brought them out. Three terrorists were shot dead. One was captured alive. The mock drill was intended to demonstrate the preparations to be dealt with any kind of attack.
The police and fire force were fully equipped outside the hotel. In addition to them, the Rapid Action Force and the bomb squad were also part of the mock drill. The preparation to include the police in strategic areas follows Operation Sindoor.
