MALAPPURAM: P V Anvar, the independent candidate of Nilambur came forward harshly attacking Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He betrayed V S Achuthanandan and the communist movement. His chief ministership is the result of deception. How can he, who is a complete deceiver, call me a deceiver, asked P V Anvar while addressing a press meet. Anvar alleged that the Communist Party interferes in religious matters.
The chief minister deceived the Christian community over the Munambam issue. Anvar said that he stood with the chief minister as he was a father figure. He added that the chief minister is in a situation where his hands and feet are tied.
The chief minister deceived Malappuram by giving an interview to the Hindu newspaper in Delhi. I released that interview. It was an agreement to support the BJP. He had arranged a media network to support The Hindu. No one knew about it until I exposed it at a rally in Kozhikode.
Meantime, the nomination of Anvar as a Trinamool candidate was rejected by the returning officer, Perinthalmanna Sub-Collector Apoorva Tripathi yesterday. However, another nomination to contest as an independent candidate was accepted.
Since the Trinamool Congress is not a national party, ten people must sign the nomination. However, the nomination submitted by Anvar had only one signature. With this, the nomination was rejected. Anvar had to file another nomination as an independent as there was a technical obstacle to contest on the party symbol.
No support from AAP
The Aam Aadmi Party will not support P V Anvar. The decision was after his nomination as Trinamool Congress candidate was rejected. The Aam Aadmi Party national leadership has instructed the state leadership not to support anyone in the Nilambur by-election.
Doors will not open, says V D Satheesan
Opposition leader V D Satheesan said the doors closed before Anvar will not be opened. Will not allow anyone to put a price on the pride of the UDF. He said that he did not take the decision on Anvar alone. The decision was taken following the demand of P K Kunhalikutty and Ramesh Chennithala. The two led the discussions. Satheesan also said that both of them had made it clear that there was no point in continuing the discussions.
