NEW DELHI: One more YouTuber has been arrested for spying for Pakistan. Jasbir Singh of Punjab and owner of the YouTube channel 'Jaan Mahal Video', has been arrested by the Punjab Police on charges of espionage. After travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra was arrested in a spy case, another YouTuber has been arrested for a similar offence.
Jasbir Singh was arrested by the Punjab Police' Special Operations Cell from Rupnagar. Investigators found that Jasbir Singh has links with Shakir, a member of the Pakistani spy organization ISI. Investigators said that Pakistani spies who were close to the previously arrested Jyoti Malhotra also have links with Jasbir Singh.
Jasbir Singh had saved the numbers of several Pakistanis on his phone. Reports said he had visited Pakistan thrice. Moreover, the police said the accused had attended important functions held at the Pakistan Embassy in Delhi. Jasbir Singh's YouTube channel has over one million subscribers. Jasbir Singh was also in close relationship with Danish, a Pakistani High Commission official who had close ties with Jyoti Malhotra.
After the news of Jyoti Malhotra's arrest came, the investigating officers also said that he tried to delete his phone messages with Pakistanis. The police said that his phone and other electronic devices have been subjected to forensic examination.
