HYDERABAD: A 21-year-old youth committed suicide after his father, a farmer failed to buy him a BMW car. The incident happened at Chatlapally village in Telangana. The youth identified as Bomma Johnny committed suicide by consuming pesticide. He started pressuring his father Kanakaiah and his mother, to buy him a BMW car. However, his parents were ordinary farmers and they were unable to buy him a car. Kanakaiah promised to buy him a Maruti Dzire car instead of BMW. Johnny did not relent to it. They even visited Maruti showroom in Siddhipet to get him a car, but Johnny did not like it.
Jagadevpur sub inspector B Chandra Mohan also confirmed that Johnny had been constantly threatening his parents, demanding BMW. Kanakaiah has two acres of agricultural land. The police said that their family was not financially well-off. Johnny, who had not completed his schooling, stayed at home all the time without going to work. Initially,
Johnny had been arguing with his parents, demanding that they sell the two acres of land and build a new house. Later, he demanded that they buy him a BMW. On Friday evening, after going to the Maruti car showroom, he returned home consumed pesticides and ended his life. He was taken to the government hospital in Gajwel and later to the RVM hospital in Mulug, but died later.
