The big reunion between legendary duo Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam is here. ‘Thug Life’ with an ensemble cast, hit theatres on Thursday. With the ace director at the helm, fans were eager to witness a gripping gangster drama. The trailer of the movie was popular with its share of controversies after a few people took offence over the glaring age gap between actors involved in an intimate scene.
Let’s hear the audience response from Kerala (Thiruvananthapuram) after the end of the first show:
Big letdown from Mani Ratnam. He couldn’t have made anything far worse than this.
Overused plot line which I think has been here in cinema since 1947. The making was fine though.
The filming is top-notch, with awe-inspiring frames. But the plot does the damage.
Big fall from grace for Mani Ratnam
The first half was decent. Big escape for Dulquer Salmaan as he opted out of the project.
Only STR was worth the watch. A R Rahman stumbled this time with a run-of-the-mill bgm.
Mass action movie which I liked well. It worked for me
The movie is still running but I came out of the theatre. Intolerable!
No Mani Ratnam magic this time.
The story is time-worn. Apart from that it is a watchable one.
Joju did well. The first half was terrific but the second half let us down.
