From the time of the announcement of the re-release, it was expected that ‘Chotta Mumbai’ would get a grand reception on its return to the big screen. On Friday, the movie that first hit the big screens in 2007, reached theatres again and it blew away all expectations out of proportion. Unprecedented scenes took over premium theatres in Kerala as the euphoric fans regaled in the thrill of nostalgia. Scores of audiences reached the front of screens to shake a leg to the dance numbers of the film while some joined the chorus to hum the hit numbers.

The scenes were akin to what is normally experienced in theatres of a fan-frantic Tamil superstar movie release. The Kavitha theatre in Ernakulam went through pure madness as the whole of the audience stood up hollering when Mohanlal made his swanky entrance in the movie.

Many people talked highly of the remastered work and the Dolby Atmos sound effects which offered an enhanced movie experience.

Some others, who watched the movie, opined it was a theatre experience worth every penny. The craze is only on the rise and in the coming days the re-release is set to witness packed theatres. Already, debates have started about Chotta Mumbai possibly breaking all hitherto records of re-release in the industry.
