NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to the G7 summit to be organized in Canada. There were rumours as to whether Modi would be invited to the summit after Justin Trudeau was replaced by Mark Carney as the Prime Minister. However, Modi himself revealed the information about Mark Carney's invitation to attend the summit through his official X account yesterday.
"Glad to receive a call from Prime Minister Mark Carney of Canada. Congratulated him on his recent election victory and thanked him for the invitation to the G7 Summit in Kananaskis later this month. As vibrant democracies bound by deep people-to-people ties, India and Canada will work together with renewed vigour, guided by mutual respect and shared interests. Look forward to our meeting at the Summit." Modi posted on X.
Important visit
India is not in good relations with Canada on the Khalistan issue. Modi's visit to Canada will therefore be crucial. It is noteworthy that Modi pointed out yesterday that the two countries will work together with new vigor in mutual respect and cooperation. India is firm on demands such as the transfer of Khalistan terrorists.
