India's COVID-19 cases cross 6,000 mark; highest number of cases in Kerala

NEW DELHI: The Union Health Ministry has reported that with 769 new COVID-19 cases in the past 48 hours, the total number of COVID-19 infections in India has crossed 6,000. With 1,915 confirmed cases, Kerala has become the state with the highest number of reported COVID-19 cases, followed by Gujarat, Bengal, and Delhi.

The Union Health Ministry stated that all states have been instructed to ensure the availability of oxygen, isolation beds, ventilators, and essential medicines.

There are currently 6,133 active COVID-19 cases in India. Six more deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. Since January this year, a total of 65 deaths have been reported across the country. To assess the COVID-19 situation and preparedness measures, meetings were held under the leadership of the central government on June 2 and 3.
