Women employees' complaint; Krishnakumar and daughter file anticipatory bail plea

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor and BJP leader Krishnakumar and his daughter Diya Krishna have filed an anticipatory bail petition in connection with a case registered against them by the Museum Police. The plea was submitted before the Thiruvananthapuram Principal Sessions Court and will be considered on Friday.

The case stems from complaints filed by women employees of Diya's firm, 'Oh by Ozy.' The complainants alleged that Krishnakumar and Diya abducted them under the pretext of resolving a financial dispute, threatened them, and extorted money.

According to the women, “We were taken in three separate cars to another office without CCTV surveillance. About ten people were present there. Our phones were confiscated, and Diya even issued death threats. A man claiming to be a police officer intimidated us. We had planned to resign after Diya's delivery. She has a difficult temperament and would often drag our families into workplace issues. She even insulted us using casteist slurs, which made us decide to quit.”

They further claimed: “On May 30, Diya and her family locked the three of us in a room and demanded that our husbands bring money. That’s how we ended up pledging gold and paying Rs 8 lakh. Diya was the one who initially asked us to receive the money into our accounts, which we later handed over to her. She said it was due to tax issues. These allegations only came up after we quit. During our one year of employment, there were no such issues from Diya’s side.”

Earlier, Krishnakumar had filed a complaint alleging that the employees defrauded the company of Rs 69 lakh, leading the police to register a case against the staff. The current complaint from the employees was submitted in response to that, but Krishnakumar has dismissed their allegations as false.
