IDUKKI: A snake was caught inside a scooter that had been parked for a long time in Kattappana. The timely intervention of the locals who were nearby saved the vehicle owner.
A snake was seen climbing into Palassery Justin's Dio scooter, which was parked near the CSI Church near Kattappana town. The information was then reported to the vehicle owner, Justin, and the snake-catching expert, Shukkur. Forest department officials also reached the spot. Then the workshop staff was called and the entire front of the vehicle was dismantled. The snake was hiding under the speedometer near the handle. After a long effort, the snake-catching expert, Shukkur, caught the cobra locally known as 'Pullani Moorkhan'.
This vehicle had been parked here for about a week. It is common for snakes to get into parked vehicles during the rainy season. Shukkur warns that if riders are not careful, they can get bitten by a snake and that people need to be careful when using parked vehicles. Shukkur was accompanied by Beat Forest Officers R Ratheesh, S Aneesh and TD Valsan from the Kattappana Forest Office.
