JERUSALEM: Israel launched major strikes against Iran’s capital Tehran. There are reports that Israel has killed Revolutionary Guard chief Hossein Salami. Last year, Iran launched an attack on Israel, led by Hossein Salami.

Two senior Iranian nuclear scientists were also killed in the attack. Israel launched the attack under the name 'Operation Rising Lions' targeting Iran's nuclear programs.

Iran has stated that it will retaliate strongly. Israel declared a state of emergency following the attack. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz responded that there is a possibility of retaliation from Tehran and that is why the state of emergency is being declared.

The White House has confirmed that the United States was not involved in the Israeli attack. The White House warned that American citizens and American facilities should not be targeted.

The attack came after Trump warned of the possibility of an Iranian attack and said the US was withdrawing personnel from the region.
