NEW DELHI: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has apologized for posting a map showing Jammu as part of Pakistan. This is the first time that Israel has made such an apology. Israel listed Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan and apologized after heavily criticized for it.
The IDF admitted that the map did not accurately depict the borders and explained that it was only an illustration of the region. After the map was released, social media users, mostly Indians highly criticized the act. Some even tagged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in their response. The IDF's response was on X handle called Indian Right-Wing Community.

'Now you understand why India remains neutral. In diplomacy, no one’s really your friend,' wrote the Indian Right-Wing Community. 'This post is an illustration of the region. This map fails to precisely depict borders. We apologize for any offense caused by this image,’ the IDF said in a statement.

The IDF's response came 90 minutes after the Indian right-wing community shared the post. However, the central government has not responded to the matter.
