NEW YORK: Indian astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is likely to fly to the International Space Station on June 19. The officials have informed that efforts are being made to conduct the Axiom 4 mission, which has been postponed many times, on June 19. The faults in the rocket have been resolved. If the trip is successful, Shubhanshu Shukla will become the first Indian citizen to go into space after Rakesh Sharma. He will also be the first Indian to visit the International Space Station. The main organizers of the trip are a private company called Axiom Space.
SpaceX's Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket will lift off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida with four passengers. The passengers will sit in the Dragon C213 capsule attached to the top of this rocket. The expedition, led by veteran Peggy Whitson (US), will be joined by Sławos Wisniewski (Poland) and Tibor Kapu (Hungary). The mission was initially delayed by weather and technical issues on the international space station, which Axiom Space said have now been resolved.
