PALAKKAD: Mannur in Palakkad bid a tearful adieu to Riya (41) and her daughter Tyra, victims of the bus accident in Kenya last week. Hundreds thronged Rishi Villa(residence) on Sunday to share in the grief of the family, who were visibly devastated.

MP V.K. Sreekandan, MLA Adv. Shanthakumari and political leaders C. Krishnakumar and Prashanth Sivan had come to pay their last respects. Tyra was supposed to arrive in Kerala on June 28th to celebrate her vacation but Alas.

Riya’s husband Joel and son Travis, who were seriously injured in the accident arrived in Kerala on Sunday. Travis was informed of the death of his mother and sister only after he reached Kerala safely.

Relatives and neighbours tried their best to console the bereaved family but to no avail. The mortal remains were brought to Nedumbassery Airport at 9:30 Sunday morning on a Qatar Airways flight.
