NEW DELHI: Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the phone to end the Israel-Iran conflict. Prime Minister Modi expressed concern over the recent tensions. Modi urged Iran to de-escalate and exercise restraint before the situation escalates. Modi himself announced this through his X account.

Reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward and for early restoration of regional peace, security and stability'' -Prime Minister posted on X.

Tensions escalated after the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. Following this, Iran began retaliating by firing missiles at Israel. Israel is currently making efforts to repel these missile attacks. Authorities have advised the public to seek shelter in safe areas until further notice.
