KOZHIKODE: Former BJP state president K. Surendran criticised the Kerala Chief Minister, calling it a double standard that he travelled to the United States while the state's health department is on "ventilator support." Speaking to the media in Kozhikode, Surendran said it was inappropriate for the Chief Minister to act irresponsibly when Kerala is in a state of crisis. He called it a challenge to the people. "When it comes to personal matters, abandoning ideals and fleeing to a foreign country like a coward is a sign of moral downfall," he said. In response to a media question, he also demanded that the Chief Minister clarify why he halted in Dubai.
He further alleged that the Education Department is using the curriculum to propagate politics. "The state government is completely politicising the education sector with leftist ideology. The government would eventually surrender on the issue of the Zumba syllabus. The state must be ready to implement the National Education Policy (NEP), and children should be taught about the authority of the UGC," Surendran added.
